Greektown Casino-Hotel’s newest entertainment experience Rock Bar and Lounge will debut today, September 25. The modernized bar replaces Asteria, which originally opened in late 2011.

Rock Bar and Lounge will serve up one-of-a-kind signature cocktails named after local Detroit streets and a vast selection of beers. This new entertainment amenity will feature contemporary décor, seven 75-inch flat-screen TVs and 26 video poker machines. It will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.

The opening of Rock Bar and Lounge is part of Greektown Casino-Hotel’s $60 million property renovation that began last year. The enhancements include modernizing the casino’s interior, offering a new dining experience at PRISM restaurant with an expanded menu, adding 400 new slot machines and launching a new players club program called GT Rewards, as well as installing a state-of-the-art HVAC system for improved air quality.

“Rock Bar and Lounge is the best venue in Detroit for guests to enjoy their favorite drink while playing video poker, all while watching their favorite sporting events,” said Jason Gregorec, CEO and general manager of Greektown Casino-Hotel. “We are confident this new addition to our entertainment offerings will further enhance the experience for our guests.”

Rock Bar and Lounge is located on the lower level of the casino and will open to the public at 3 p.m. today, September 25. Drink specials will be available and the first 200 guests will receive a complimentary t-shirt.
