Horseshoe Casino Cleveland Launches New AD Campaign Featuring Downtown

Forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and go downtown. Everything’s waiting for you.

So goes the 1964 hit “Downtown” by Petula Clark, and now it’s the theme of Horseshoe Casino’s new ad campaign that aims to let all of Northeast Ohio know that there’s no more stimulating place to visit than downtown.

“The campaign focuses on all the exciting things that only downtown can offer – fabulous restaurants, Playhouse Square and, of course, the casino,” said Jamie Brown, vice president of marketing for Horseshoe Cleveland. “When you’re looking for a night out, we want you to think of downtown.”

The campaign launched this week on TV and will soon launch on radio, billboards and in print.

As downtown Cleveland continues to experience a renaissance with new hotels opening, the overhaul of Public Square and more visitors than the city could boast in recent decades, Horseshoe felt it was important to highlight the positive momentum.

“Many of us who work and live downtown already know that the city center is a great place to be, but we wanted to remind all those who haven’t visited downtown lately all of the experiences they’re missing,” Brown said.

With taglines such as “Your tables await” and “Play after the play,” the campaign urges Northeast Ohioans to get a great dinner at local restaurants such as XO, Johnny’s or Ken Stewart’s, then visit the casino. Or go see a play then try their luck at the Horseshoe. There’s plenty to do and see downtown whether they want to spend a day or a weekend in the city.

The campaign was created by Cleveland’s Stern Advertising, who immediately included the Petula Clark classic in the planning.

As a result, the Horseshoe campaign is much different than any other casino of its kind has ever done.

“The goal is to bring back all the memories that people have of coming downtown and having a great time,” Brown said. “We want them to know that those days are back.”
