Horseshoe Cleveland today opened its new $4 million Tag Bar and Lounge devoted to sports and electronic table games on the casino’s second floor. As a full-service casino, Horseshoe is the only gaming venue in Northeast Ohio that can house electronic table games.

The 2,000-square-foot virtual gaming center features 40 electronic table games including blackjack, roulette and craps. In addition to this new gaming option will be 35 flat-screen TVs ranging from 50 inches to 80 inches. The TVs are strategically placed around the bar to ensure that none of the sports action is missed.

Tag Bar and Lounge

“Clevelanders love table games and sports, so we created Tag Bar to combine these two favorite pastimes and build a premier gaming space that is unique to the Horseshoe,” said Marcus Glover, general manager of Horseshoe Cleveland.

TAG Bar greets guests as they enter Horseshoe Cleveland from the new skywalk, which links the casino’s Collection Auto Group Centre parking structure to the gaming floor on the second level.
Its bold red and black hues are complimented by silver embellishments throughout. Plush lounge seating, an array of electronic table games and a full-service, 360-degree bar create a vibrant, upscale venue that hasn’t previously been seen in Cleveland.

The bar will feature 30 rotating, craft beers from around the country, eight wines on tap and a half-dozen “hoptails,” which are specialty cocktails made with craft beers. To guide guests through this new craft beer experience, the 17-member team at Tag Bar has become Cicerone Certified for their knowledge of beer storage, service, styles and culture. All Tag Bar servers also have been trained on blackjack, craps and roulette to assist guests in playing the electronic table games.

Electronic table games will also be embedded in the bar top, enabling guests to watch sportingevents on 16 flat screen TVs placed above the bar while continuing to play their favorite table games. The bar’s 35 TVs will be equipped with all the major sports packages, including the National Football League, National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball.

Building Excitement
With the addition of Tag Bar, Horseshoe Cleveland has redesigned a portion of its second floor. The new layout places a traditional table games pit right outside Tag Bar, melding together the excitement of live and electronic table games. A small number of slot machines on the second floor were relocated to other parts of the casino to provide space for TAG Bar and the new Total Rewards center, which opened in the first quarter of this year.

The second floor upgrade is the latest of planned amenities to become a reality at Horseshoe Cleveland, which opened as Ohio’s first casino in May 2012. Upon requests from guests, Horseshoe built a $7 million skywalk and began providing food around the clock from Cleveland’s iconic Corky & Lenny’s deli, which is located in the Horseshoe food court on the second floor. Horseshoe also provides live entertainment Thursday – Saturday in its Vintage 51 bar on the second floor.

Grand Opening Party
Horseshoe will celebrate the new Tag Bar with a grand opening party on Sunday, Oct. 12. Watch as the Browns kick off at home against the Steelers at 1 p.m. Drink specials of Yuengling and Yuengling Light will be available on draft for $2 and in a bottle for $3 from the start of the game until the end of the live post-game broadcast.

The party continues through the evening with appearances by Moondog from the Cavaliers and Slider from the Indians.

Watch and listen after the game as ESPN Radio Cleveland’s Tony Rizzo and Aaron Goldhammer go live from Tag Bar with the Really Big Post Game Show. Sponsored by Yuengling, the show will engage in post-game discussion about the Browns for three hours following the game.

Horseshoe guests may enter to win various football prizes and free slot play from 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 12. Must be present to enter the contest and win. Yuengling and the ESPN Street Team will join the Horseshoe in providing free prizes to guests throughout the post-game party.
