Horseshoe Casino Cleveland will mark its first anniversary in a month-long celebration that includes more than $1.5 million in prizes, special décor inside the Higbee Building, and culminates in a free public festival downtown. Horseshoe Cleveland opened as the State of Ohio’s first casino on May 14, 2012.
“Our first year in Cleveland has been a great victory for our entire team and we’ll thank the community and the five million guests who have visited us with a full schedule of exciting events and giveaways throughout May,” said Marcus Glover, senior vice president and general manager of Horseshoe Cleveland. “It’s going to be an exciting time in downtown Cleveland.”
The celebration begins this week as Horseshoe Cleveland transforms its main level gaming floor into a colorful garden that will brighten the grayest of days and usher in summer with a renewed sense of sparkle and flair. “Spring Bling” raises the stakes on the casino’s first holiday promotion, “Holidays at the Higbee,” which ran last December and will include:
- A giant anniversary cake perched above the casino’s Prospect Avenue entrance, adorned by two, life-size gold horses.
- Another life-size gold horse leaping through a silk flower horseshoe over the casino’s Public Square entrance.
- Famous paintings will be recreated with silk flowers and adorn the Higbee Building display windows along Ontario Street.
- Sixteen arbors with hanging cherry blossoms, colorful umbrellas and lighted lanterns will arch over the main floor of the casino.
In addition, Horseshoe Cleveland will give away more than $1.5 million in promotions and gifts throughout the month. Total Rewards members may earn a different seasonal gift each week during the month including a Takeya Ice Tea Brewer and a horseshoe game set. Guests can also enter daily for a chance to win up to $1 million in free slot play that will be awarded at Horseshoe Cleveland’s Spring Fling, a free festival on Friday, May 31. The event will include live music, food from local restaurants, a beer garden, and a visit from Bally’s Las Vegas Jubilee Girls. The night will end with a grand finale fireworks and laser show.
